Terms of service

1. The service

This bank statement converter (statements.tanod.dev) is part of Tanod ("we", "us"). It converts PDF bank statements into spreadsheets (Excel and CSV). By using the service you agree to these terms.

2. What we are not

We are not a bank, a payment service or a financial adviser, and we are not affiliated with any bank. We do not hold or move money. Nothing the service produces is accounting, tax, financial or legal advice.

3. Check your results

Conversion is automatic and can contain errors, for example on unusual layouts. We show a balance check to help you, but you must check the results against your original statement before you rely on them. You are responsible for how you use the converted files.

4. Your files

You may only upload statements you have the right to process. You keep all rights to your files. We use them only to provide the conversion. The uploaded PDF is deleted when the conversion finishes and the converted files are deleted 1 hour after conversion; download them within that hour. See the privacy policy.

5. Acceptable use

Do not use the service for anything unlawful, upload malicious files, try to get around the free-file limit or the payment, overload the service, or access it with automated tools in a way that harms other users. We may refuse or limit access to protect the service.

6. Prices and payment

Prices are shown on the pricing page in US dollars. Payments are processed by Polar, our reseller and merchant of record, which handles billing, sales tax or VAT and receipts; its terms apply to the purchase. A single-file purchase unlocks the download of one converted statement. Credit packs give credits for that number of files, valid for 12 months from purchase; a credit is used when you unlock a file. Credits are tied to the code, not to an account: keep the code private.

7. Free use

One file of up to 3 pages per browser and per internet connection per day can be downloaded for free. We may change or end the free allowance at any time.

8. Refunds

If a file you paid for could not be converted usably, email [email protected] within 14 days of purchase with your receipt and we will refund it. Unused pack credits can be refunded within 14 days of purchase. Refunds are paid through Polar to your original payment method. This does not limit any rights you have under consumer law.

9. Availability

We aim to keep the service available and accurate, but provide it "as is", without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows. We may change or stop the service; if we stop it, we will refund unused credits.

10. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses caused by relying on converted results that you did not check, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version; the version in force when you buy applies to that purchase.
